Built by a rider, for riders

Moterra prioritises exploration and discovery.

Why this exists

I wanted a ride tracking app where exploration came first. Where achievements, progression, and challenges were built around discovering roads and building your personal map over time—not separate from it.

Most apps force you to choose: exploration or gamification. Moterra integrates them. Achievements unlock naturally as you explore. Game modes encourage discovery. Regional milestones reward curiosity.

What matters

Moterra is built around a few core ideas. Your data is yours. Your map is personal. Progress and achievements come through discovery, not grinding artificial tasks.

Gamification should enhance exploration, not replace it. Seasonal events, regional challenges, and game modes are designed to give you new reasons to ride, not to distract from your own curiosity.

How it's made

Moterra is being built slowly and deliberately, focused on getting the core experience right before adding complexity.

It's a tool being built by someone who rides and wants to prioritise exploration in a ride tracking app.

The name

Moterra is a made-up word. It combines "motor" (as in motorcycle) with "terra," the Latin word for earth or land. It reflects the idea of exploring the land on a motorcycle.

What's next

Moterra is in development. There's no launch date yet. This site exists to explain the approach and priorities.
